Is there a correct way to be queer?
Lots of people seem to think there is, despite the fact our community is connected more by difference than anything else. We are united by our lives, identities, and sexualities being outside of the mainstream.
One of the most policed letters of the LGBTQIA+ acronym is the humble βBβ, who receive scrutiny and criticism when their relationships are not deemed βqueer enoughβ. The way some people talk, itβs like bisexuals need to have some kind of queer card stamped every time they have sex with another queer person in order to be allowed to march at Pride.
Gatekeeping inside the queer community helps nobody, and also shows a profound lack of imagination. Remember - ACAB includes policing other peopleβs sexualities.

How do I be bisexual inside a committed relationship?
Most bi+ people never come out - only 1 in 5 men do. That invisibility lets tired stereotypes take root: confused, greedy, incapable of monogamy. Research has debunked them, but the fear hasnβt gone anywhere, especially inside relationships.
This fear has led to many bi people in relationships questioning how to honour their sexuality - but as this article explains, βYour relationship doesnβt cancel your identity. Your monogamy doesnβt shrink it. And your silence doesnβt protect it.β
